Cut Unnecessary Expenses to Build Emergency Fund
Monday, June 15th, 2009One sure way to start building your emergency fund is by cutting unnecessary expenses. Even cutting small expenses can add up to something big. For example, if you have the habit of buying latte every morning, the few dollars you spend on it add up over time. Let’s say you pay two dollars for the latte. In one month, that could easily become fifty dollars. In one year, that would be 600 dollars.
Just imagine how much money you will make if you invest the money instead. Because of the compounding effect, the 600 dollars you put into investment would become thousands of dollars over time.
And we are only talking about cutting one expense. What about other expenses of yours? The more small expenses you cut, the more money you will be able to save and the faster you can build your emergency fund.
